What shoes do you recommend for those with plantar fasciitis?

I just donated over 23 pairs of shoes. I used to LOVE shoes, so this has been a disappointing blow. Do they make any cute, cushiony white sandals anywhere?
if it is support and comfort u are looking for..i say
go with NIKE AIR
They are awesome~
Birkenstock high arch shoes or sandals help a lot. Make sure it's from the high arch line though, not the regular Birks.
I have also recently discovered how much MBT shoes help - - that is, the rocker bottom seems to change the biomechanics of the foot and help with the pain.
Lastly, you definitely need to look into getting orthotics. Soft, cushiony sandals may not cut it until you have addressed the actual cause of your PF.
Arch supports are the key. Also there are some foot exercises that you can do to help. Get a couple of different size small balls. Marbles are perfect. When you are just hanging out watching TV or something, pick up the marbles using your toes. Alternate sizes of marble. This will strengthen the arches and help alleviate the pain. It works.
It's not so much the shoe, as the arch support. Get a good firm arch support like Spenco or Dr Scholl's. If that doesn't help, you may need to get a custom-made orthotic or a steroid injection into the heel spur.
I suggest shoes with good arch support or what makes your feet
comfortable. If you have shoes that don't have arch than buy
arch soles to help your feet.
