How do you remove shoe sole marks from shoes?

I have a pair of tan synthetic, imitation leather shoes and they have black marks from the rubber sole of another shoe on them. Ive tried everything i can think of to get it off but it wont budge! Any ideas?

Use an art eraser ("white" eraser) and gently erase the marks away.

If this doesn't work, try rubbing with toothpaste and a clean cloth.

If the above two fail, you can use rubbing alcohol on the stain.

maybe try that MAGIC ERASER by Mr. Clean that you can get at a drugstore or supermarket.

supposedly it removes just about any mark .... "EVEN PERMANENT MARKERS" from almost any surface!

Try asking in the cleaning and laundry sec for better professional answers.

a normal pink eraser (clean). I know it works on leather shoes (like timberland boots)..but I don't know about synthetic imitation leather. I think it should..
